ABOUT MARTY
The name “Korb” has long been synonymous with pianos in the Tampa Bay Area since 1965 when Marty’s Father, Don Sr. started his Piano Tuning Business. Just mention the word piano to one of your friends and chances are they have had their own piano tuned and serviced by Don Korb, Sr. or one of his many family members. (There are SEVEN piano techs in the family!)
There was no piano-related service that Don did not perform; cabinetry refinishing, re-stringing, rebuilding & complete restoration. All these services took place in the Korb Piano Shop that was located right in the heart of Downtown St. Pete!
Since grade school, Marty Korb and his brothers worked alongside their father changing out piano parts, rebuilding, restringing, refinishing, and tuning pianos, learning the craft and developing the skills & the expertise that would prepare Marty to become one of the finest piano technicians in the Tampa Bay area.
Born and raised in St. Petersburg, FL, Marty established his own piano tuning and repair services in 1987. He has since become the go-to piano technician servicing the pianos at premier concert halls of Tampa Bay such as Mahaffey Theater, Amalie Arena, Raymond James Stadium, and the Amphitheater. Name a music artist that uses a real piano on their tour since 1987 and Marty has most likely tuned for them.
While Marty certainly has plenty of concert tuning experience, the reality is that the vast majority of his business is with local folks here in St. Petersburg and the greater Tampa Bay area. Residences, churches, businesses, hotels, and restaurants all enjoy the quality workmanship that Marty provides. Everyone can receive a concert quality piano tuning at a reasonable price!
